Kevin Kivela is the Community Coordinator and part time researcher and instructor for Social Perspective, LLC. Formally a resident of Michigan, Kevin participated in more than 500 hours of training in areas such as DMS IV diagnosis and treatment, medication procedures, substance abuse, criminal justice, and administrative leadership. His experience includes seven years with Cottonwood, Inc supervising adults with development disabilities in a residental group home setting and several years as a Primary Substance Abuse Counselor for the Great Lakes Rehabilitation Center. He was Assistant Program Manager and Therapeutic Assistant for the Teaching-Family Homes of Upper Michigan Regional Treatment Center working with youth 5 through 18 years old. He also served as a Direct Care Worker for a temporary residential placement facility in Lawrence, KS for youth offenders and worked part time for Edge Enterprises researching and implementing a social skills program for adolescents.
